Application Process

To apply for a grant, review the Foundation’s Grant Policy & Application Process prior to completing the Grant Application Form. Completed applications along with the required attachments can be hand delivered to our office at 303 Chestnut Street, or sent by mail to:

The Virginia Community Foundation Board reviews grant applications and makes funding decisions on a monthly basis according to the following schedule:

 Award Policies

Approved grants will expire one year from the date of approval, unless a grantee applies for and is granted an extension. A Final Report Form must be submitted within three (3) months after the grant period end date. Consideration of future requests will be dependent on completion of final reports for any prior grants.

Grantees are required to provide public acknowledge of a Foundation grant on project sites and/or in project communications. Grantees are also strongly encouraged to make purchases of materials and services form local businesses when utilizing VCF funds.
