John Victor "Vic" Lager
Lager John Victor "Vic" Lager of Virginia, 55, died September 6, 2005. He was born February 10, 1950, the son of Dr. Harold E. and Delores (Hanson) Lager in Virginia. Vic was a 1968 graduate of Virginia High School, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Minnesota in Duluth in 1972, and graduated J.D. Cum Laude in 1978 from Hamline University School of Law. He began his career with the St. Louis County Attorney's Office as an Assistant County Prosecutor before starting his private practice in Virginia. Vic married Sharon Schlobohm on March 1, 1986. He was a member of Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Range Bar Association, and the Minnesota Bar Association. A past member of Kiwanis, the Virginia Foundation, and Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He is survived by his wife: Sharon; mother: Delores; brother: Robert (Ellen) Lager of Robbinsdale, MN; father-in-law: Luverne Schlobohm of Owatonna; sisters-in-law: Susan (Dan) Branstad and Diane (Randy) Randall; brothers-in-law: David (Maureen) Schlobohm and Douglas (Jennifer) Schlobohm; nieces and nephews: Mollie, Kellie, & Jon Lager; Paul & Adam Branstad, Matthew & Kathryn Schlobohm, Joshua, Shelby, & Shannon Randall, Brooke & Lauren Schlobohm; and many close relatives and life long friends. He was preceded in death by his dad: Harold "Finny" Lager in May of 2000 and his mother-in-law Joan Schlobohm in May of 1994. Visitation will be held Friday, September 9th, 2005, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home in Virginia. Visitation will continue Saturday, September 10th, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral services at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church in Virginia. Pastor Nathan Sager will officiate. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Virginia Foundation and Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church.
