Memorials

Welcome to the Virginia Community Foundation’s Memorials page. The Foundation has added this new section to our website to allow friends and family to create lasting memorials for deceased Virginia residents and alumni. Users are encouraged to create memorials on behalf of their friends and loved ones using our easy-to-use content template. Content may include an obituary, personal message and photo of the deceased. Memorials are not limited to persons who have recently passed. Users, who wish to recognize the anniversary of the passing of someone special years after the fact, are welcome to create a memorial on their loved one’s behalf.

There is no charge for creating memorials on our site. We only ask in return to include an invitation to other users to make a memorial donation to the Foundation in the name of the person being memorialized. The only condition placed on memorials is that the person being memorialized must, at any point during their life, have been a resident of Virginia Minnesota and/or an alumnus of the Virginia school district.

All memorials will be reviewed by Foundation staff before they are posted live to the website.
