The earnings from the Virginia Community Foundation’s permanent endowment are distributed through community enrichment grants. The endowment, being built with donations from hundreds of businesses and individuals, is meant to serve as a “community savings account” to keep Virginia a great place to grow up, live, work and visit.
Since 1992, the Virginia Community Foundation has made more than 190 community enrichment grants. Through 2014, over $540,000 has been awarded. The average grant size is $2,778, with the majority of grants being less than $2,000.
If your group or non-profit organization needs funding for a project that you believe will have a positive impact on the community’s quality of life, we encourage you to submit a grant application.
If you have questions or need assistance in preparing your grant, please contact the Virginia Community Foundation at 749-8239 or by email to email@example.com.
