Blue Pride Fund

“Blue Pride”... those words can evoke a deep and heartfelt sense of self, school and community. It is the quickening of your pulse when you hear the school song or hear the roar of fans cheering for one of the Blue Devil teams.

Continuing to provide opportunities for co-curricular activities has become increasingly challenging with long-term budget constraints. Created in 2001 with a mission to support high-school-league activities at Virginia schools, the Blue Pride Fund provides grants to keep Blue Devil athletics and fine arts thriving. Established to build permanent resources while also addressing today’s pressing needs, 70% of donations to the Blue Pride Fund become a part of an endowment while the remaining 30% is available for today’s grants.

Blue Pride grants, totaling more than $36,000, have been awarded for the following:

  • Student activity fee scholarships
  • Cheerleading advisor
  • Weight room supervision
  • Junior high athletic tournament support
  • Transportation assistance for programs such as cross country skiing
  • Basketball backboards
  • Volleyball nets and standards
  • Track & Field pole vault equipment
  • Hockey facility improvements
  • Play-analyzing computer software
  • Baseball scoreboard replacement

As school budgets are being stretched, many costs are no longer covered with public funding. Though still critically important, booster clubs can’t do it all. So you can help us to build and maintain Blue Pride by making a donation now.
