Choose an Existing Charitable Fund

The Virginia Community Foundation currently offers three types of existing funds to which donors can contribute any amount, the Unrestricted Fund, Endowed Funds and Non-Endowed Funds.

You may choose to donate do our Unrestricted Fund which is an endowed fund from which the Foundation may disperse grants to a broad range of projects and organizations at the board’s discretion.

The Foundation currently has five Endowed Funds you may choose to support. These funds cover narrower areas of interest such as education or the arts. Grants are dispersed from interest earnings of the particular fund.

The Foundation also has two Non-Endowed Funds. These funds are similar to the endowed funds in that they are intended to support a specific area of interest, but the principal investment is available for immediate disbursement through grants.
